Dana Saxerud is an award-winning painter and illustrator working with national and international art dealers, corporations, technology firms, financial institutions and book editors to create original oils, watercolors, portraits and illustrations. Her paintings and illustrations have been featured in Elan Magazine, newspaper articles and multi-media campaigns.

This 12-foot by 6-foot oil on canvas was commissioned by a client in Shanghai China. Working through international art dealers, the painting was designed and created within one year. Built with a custom expansion-bolt stretcher to provide stability for the structure's large dimensions, "Year of the Horse" was air-shipped to Shanghai in 2017.

COMMERCIAL and TECHNICAL ILLUSTRATIONS
Ms. Saxerud provides illustration work for financial institutions, technology companies and corporations for promotional and technical design. Her work has appeared in The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun and The New Jersey Star Ledger, as well as multi-media advertising campaigns.
BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS
Dana works with book editors and authors to create original illustrations and cover art for several books, including two children's books, young adult books, and manuals.
PUBLIC ART
Dana designed and created artwork for mass-transit advertising on Metro Bus/Rail, print and digital media, as well as outdoor promotional sculptures.
President Amanda's Whistle-stop Trip was published in 2006, and is a sequel to Call Me Madam President by author Sue Pyatt. All 32 custom illustrations were created using color pencil, watercolor and pen and ink.
D.C. Daniel was published in 2014. All 32 full-page illustrations and cover art were created in colored pencils, watercolor and pen and ink.
